This image was taken in Halong City, North Vietnam. Most people know this area as Halong Bay. The bay is a world heritage area famous for the limestone islands that pop up all through the bay. I found that the best photography though was shooting the fishing boats as foreground subjects in front of the islands. I had 2 days shooting here and after the first few hours of the locals trying to sell me rides in their boats they eventually gave up and started to talk with me normally 🙂 It seemed to me that a lot of Vietnamese do not venture outside of their shires and some seem not to even know the geography of their own country. The people here in the north were impressed with my gallery of south Vietnam photos hat I had ready on my iPhone for just such occasions.
I hope you enjoy this image. Will.
